Jan. 2018 SOME Photos Work

Kathy has finally been working on fixing the access to photos.  I do like Google Photos now for many reasons; terrific search to find specific photos, and somehow the Google program allowed my file names of already online picture album names- and some groupings that I had prepared in the Picasa editing program to be saved in their archive, but the captions were not preserved.  I still have trouble bending Gphotos program to my will and miss the old way, but I'm not as devasted as two years ago when my blog "broke."

 I had thought I had fixed my Blogger Blog and checked how it worked before a cut off date when Google Photo stopped supporting slide show which I used extensively. Then one day I rechecked and either the tiny picture which was previously a link to a slide show album did not open as such or a big grey blob appeared in place of the photo album leading readers to a 404 error.

Thanks to my subscribing to a website of a traveling RV couple who do videos to teach on the internet called Geeks on Tour I have caught up with some of the technology knowledge I had been lacking.

Right now,  my pictures won't open or enlarge in the blog.. I wish they were full screen size as they used to be.  Sometimes the blog writing doesn't really match what pictures show or I missed reinserting some favorite photos. Photos are a smaller size which I could fix when I have more time, one at a time! The real problem is I haven't put on new material for two years. I know friends and readers have given up.  So I might try to fix things.  Maybe not.

I do still have total access to my original online  photos but not organized into a slide show as I had them, nor sized as I want them-- when shown by Google Photo archive the thumbnails are too small to judge the quality and content of each picture.  Captions and labels are missing-that's the real issue in "fixing" 10 year old material.  Sometimes I can remember a caption but not usually.

 Each photo, then, has to be worked on indivdually, so I have included less photos.   I have 117 albums of pictures I posted publicly so it's time consuming.  I hope when I complete the picture revamp and check the writing to remember Where we were, When we travelled, and Who we were with for well, the last nine years.  At this point errors especially details of "where", are being made due to memory lapses! (mine) so I apologise in advance for inaccuracies.

So onward to my in-progress older travels!
