Montenidoli, San Gimignano, Italy May 8-June 10, 2013

Hello Sailing, Motorcycling and Traveling friends,

Dan and I arrived at our accomodation in Italy after our ride from Germany, through the Swiss Alps to arrive to San Gimignano where a relative had arranged for us to rent a lovely place from a winery owner he knew, and knew would welcome us.  My pictures are out of sequence but these are some of the Tuscan scenery and towns we rode through- some when we had visitors at the villa a few weeks later.

This is a picture of our guests signing up for their Beemer.  We four spent a few days away from the villa discovering Tuscany with them.  The following pictures were taken in beautiful, romantic Certaldo, only a short ride from our villa. To reach it we parked our two bikes in the church lot below and took the ride up on the tramway.

Our visitors picked up their rented beemer.

We parked the bikes at the church far below and headed up on the funicula,  enjoying the view.

Dan, Steve, Christa and I rode to the small town high on a hill but close to our place to explore Certaldo Alto May 2013

Italian coffee at an outdoor cafe.  One of the many joys of Tuscany!

While strolling the piazza we saw this musician who played flutes of varying styles and sizes.  He played some of his original music for us as he performed in the piazza.  The music was haunting and lovely.

Here we look down on San Gimignano and farther up the other side to our villa.

Ok, horses are great in a mountain town.

In this next entry you can see  the Tuscan Villa  we stayed at for a month from May 8, 2013 through June 10 and see some shots of the vineyard of Montenidoli, the agriturismo that rented it to us.  Here is the website and if you should need a beautiful and convenient place to stay in Tuscany you might contact :

In May we needed a cozy fire.

Dan's motorcycle, the reason for our visit was to ride but so much was available in culture and arts.
